The idea of washing your face using oils is probably not terribly appealing on first thought. But take a minute to think about how oil and water mix. Not very well right? In order to truly rid your pores of oily buildup, you need to use oil - not water. Oily, dry, normal, sensitive - this cleaning method is beneficial to nearly all skin types. This cleaner is a simple combination of castor oil (a drawing oil with humectant and astringent properties); rice bran, jojoba, and olive oils (which provide softness and moisture); and an emulsifier for easy rinsability. Lightly scented with a blend of jasmine absolute, rose and sandalwood essential oils or unscented upon request. 2 fl oz.
To use: Dispense a small amount of the oil into your palms, spread over dry skin (avoiding the eye area) and massage in for a few minutes. Follow the massage by steaming your face with a hot cloth - our Bamboo washcloth is ideal for this - and wiping away the cleansing oil. Follow with toner and moisturizer. Yes, despite the fact you are using oil to clean, your skin may feel a bit dry and tight since it is so effective at drawing up the oil. Our testers noted immediate softness and smoothing of the skin but it took on average 5 days of continuous usage, with steaming, to fully clear the pores.
